R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Marlene Gallegos of Parkland High School in El Paso
  received well-deserved recognition when she was named the Region 19
  Education Service Center 2014-2015 Secondary Teacher of the Year;
  and
         WHEREAS, A 10th- and 11th-grade chemistry teacher,
  Ms. Gallegos is an alumna of the Ysleta Independent School District
  where she now works, and it was her instructors at Eastwood High
  School who inspired her to become an educator; she earned a
  bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Dallas in
  1996 and also holds two master's degrees from The University of
  Texas at El Paso; and
         WHEREAS, Through her expertise and her outstanding
  dedication to her work, Marlene Gallegos has earned the respect and
  admiration of her fellow educators, and she has inspired in her
  students a love of learning from which they will greatly benefit
  throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Marlene Gallegos on her selection
  as the Region 19 Education Service Center 2014-2015 Secondary
  Teacher of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success in her important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Gallegos as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
