R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Marlene Gallegos of Parkland High School in El Paso |
|
received well-deserved recognition when she was named the Region 19 |
|
Education Service Center 2014-2015 Secondary Teacher of the Year; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, A 10th- and 11th-grade chemistry teacher, |
|
Ms. Gallegos is an alumna of the Ysleta Independent School District |
|
where she now works, and it was her instructors at Eastwood High |
|
School who inspired her to become an educator; she earned a |
|
bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Dallas in |
|
1996 and also holds two master's degrees from The University of |
|
Texas at El Paso; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her expertise and her outstanding |
|
dedication to her work, Marlene Gallegos has earned the respect and |
|
admiration of her fellow educators, and she has inspired in her |
|
students a love of learning from which they will greatly benefit |
|
throughout their lives; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Marlene Gallegos on her selection |
|
as the Region 19 Education Service Center 2014-2015 Secondary |
|
Teacher of the Year and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success in her important work; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Gallegos as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
