R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Shady Acres in Newton celebrated its 50th |
|
anniversary on February 7, 2015; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1965 by Dr. Clint Hines and Betty |
|
Hines, Shady Acres offers long-term skilled nursing care, along |
|
with rehabilitation and occupational therapy for patients |
|
recuperating from an illness; dedicated to ministering to its |
|
residents and their families, the center also runs Church Alive on |
|
its grounds, where Dr. Hines continues to deliver a sermon every |
|
Sunday; and |
|
WHEREAS, Operated today by its founders' children, Nathan and |
|
David Hines, the family business is the largest private employer in |
|
the town of Newton and the second largest in the county; and |
|
WHEREAS, For half a century, Shady Acres has provided comfort |
|
and security to area senior citizens as well as rehabilitation to |
|
patients on the road to recovery, and its long and notable record of |
|
service is truly deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 50th anniversary of Shady Acres |
|
and extend to all those associated with the facility sincere best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Hines family as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
