R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Altrusa Club of Waco has demonstrated an |
|
|
inspiring commitment to education through its scholarship program; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, An association of business executives and |
|
|
professionals who volunteer their energies and expertise in |
|
|
projects dedicated to community betterment, the Waco Altrusa Club |
|
|
is led by president Marci Barletta; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 2015, this nonprofit organization presented a |
|
|
$1,000 scholarship to Samantha Lopez, a deserving student who is |
|
|
enrolled in the premed program at Baylor University and plans to |
|
|
pursue a career as a physician; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, With its admirable support of higher education, the |
|
|
Altrusa Club of Waco is making a meaningful difference in the lives |
|
|
of area residents, and its notable endeavors are truly worthy of |
|
|
special recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Altrusa Club of Waco for its |
|
|
scholarship program and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
organization sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
