R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Ricardo Zamora retired from The University of Texas
  at San Antonio on April 3, 2015, after more than a quarter-century
  of dedicated service; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in the Alamo City, Rick Zamora grew
  up in a large family and spent his summers harvesting seasonal crops
  in Michigan and Ohio; he graduated from high school and
  subsequently joined the U.S. armed forces, serving his nation
  admirably during the Vietnam War as a military policeman and K-9
  handler; he returned to San Antonio upon completion of his military
  obligations and later took courses at a local university; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Zamora was employed as a construction inspector
  for the City of San Antonio for several years before working in
  facilities planning, design, and construction management for a San
  Antonio-based health care facility for 15 years; he then joined the
  staff at UTSA as capital projects manager for major building
  construction, where he was responsible for more than $750,000,000
  in projects over the course of his 26-year tenure; and
         WHEREAS, In retirement, this esteemed Texan plans to travel
  and spend more time with his wife; moreover, Mr. Zamora hopes to
  continue to share his talents and energies as a member of the
  building committee for VFW Post No. 76; and
         WHEREAS, The University of Texas at San Antonio has benefited
  from the hard work, dedication, and expertise of Ricardo Zamora,
  and he may indeed take great pride in his achievements as he begins
  the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ricardo Zamora on his retirement
  from The University of Texas at San Antonio and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Zamora as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
