R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Dallas have benefited greatly from the |
|
|
leadership of city council member and former interim mayor Dwaine |
|
|
R. Caraway; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Widely known as an authority on community issues, |
|
|
Mr. Caraway was elected in 2007 to represent District 4 on the |
|
|
Dallas City Council; during his tenure, he was chair of the Public |
|
|
Safety Committee, deputy mayor pro tem, and mayor pro tem in 2009; |
|
|
moreover, he served as the interim mayor of Dallas from February to |
|
|
June 2011; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Caraway has also contributed to his community as |
|
|
a private citizen; he owns The Profile Group, an advertising and |
|
|
consulting company, and he has been a member of a number of notable |
|
|
organizations, including the Cotillion Idlewild Club, the Dallas |
|
|
NAACP, and Friendship-West Baptist Church; in addition, he was vice |
|
|
president of the Dallas Park and Recreation Board and chaired the |
|
|
South Dallas Fair Park Trust Fund; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Public servants improve the quality of life for |
|
|
their fellow Texans in innumerable ways, and Dwaine Caraway has |
|
|
helped to make Dallas an even better place in which to live and |
|
|
work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend the Honorable Dwaine R. Caraway for his |
|
|
service on the Dallas City Council and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Caraway as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
