R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, L. E. Dussetschleger has greatly benefited Lee |
|
County through his many years of dedicated public service; and |
|
WHEREAS, "Buster" Dussetschleger began his career in law |
|
enforcement with the Lee County Sheriff's Office; he subsequently |
|
became the city marshal for Lexington, and in 1980 he was elected to |
|
the first of eight terms as a Lee County constable; for a number of |
|
years, he also served as the county's emergency management |
|
coordinator and represented the county on the Homeland Security |
|
Task Force of the Capital Area Council of Governments; his |
|
extensive work with CAPCOG included longtime service as a member of |
|
the Law Enforcement Education Committee and as an instructor with |
|
the Regional Law Enforcement Academy; and |
|
WHEREAS, During his tenure as constable, Mr. Dussetschleger |
|
earned a master peace officer's license, an instructor's license, |
|
and a civil proficiency certificate; he served as a board member for |
|
the Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables Association and as |
|
president of the Central Texas Justices of the Peace and Constables |
|
Association, and he was twice named Constable of the Year; |
|
moreover, he was a member of the Lexington Volunteer Fire |
|
Department for a quarter-century; he led that group as president, |
|
and he played a key role in the establishment of the Emergency |
|
Medical Service, helping to coordinate the purchase of the city's |
|
first ambulance; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the support |
|
and encouragement of his wife, Linda S. Dussetschleger; and |
|
WHEREAS, Public servants improve the quality of life for |
|
their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and Buster |
|
Dussetschleger has contributed significantly to the betterment of |
|
Lee County; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Buster Dussetschleger for his long record |
|
of public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Dussetschleger as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
