R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, During the 84th Regular Session, JaQuay Jackson Gray
  has ably served her fellow Texans in the office of State
  Representative Yvonne Davis through the Texas Legislative
  Internship Program; and
         WHEREAS, Sponsored by Senator Rodney Ellis, TLIP was
  established in 1990 and is administered by the Mickey Leland Center
  on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; the program
  provides a unique opportunity for students to serve as interns in
  the Texas Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government
  offices; and
         WHEREAS, An alumna of Southern University and A&M College,
  where she earned a bachelor's degree with honors, Ms. Gray
  currently is pursuing a law degree at the Southern University Law
  Center; she received an Excellence for the Future Award from the
  Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction in 2013, and she is
  active in student life through her service as secretary of the
  Student Bar Association, as treasurer of Law Students for
  Reproductive Justice, and as a member of Phi Alpha Delta, the
  Maritime Law Society, and the SULC community service and
  recruitment committees; moreover, she has generously volunteered
  her time in behalf of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and the
  Louis A. Martinet Legal Society; and
         WHEREAS, This noteworthy young woman has performed her duties
  as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she has
  gained valuable work experience in the field of public service
  while learning more about the legislative process and the issues
  facing citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend JaQuay Jackson Gray for her service in
  the office of State Representative Yvonne Davis as a participant in
  the Texas Legislative Internship Program and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Gray as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
