R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Chester High School boys' 4 x 400-meter relay |
|
|
team achieved great distinction by participating in the 2015 |
|
|
University Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 15, Billy Thompson, Keaton |
|
|
Whitworth, Cord Neal, and Chris Carter |
|
|
turned in a notable |
|
|
performance; they achieved a time of 3 minutes, 39.93 seconds, to |
|
|
earn a seventh-place finish in this hard-fought contest; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's |
|
|
premier showcase for high school track and field athletes, these |
|
|
fine young Texans have ably represented their school, and they may |
|
|
indeed reflect with pride on their accomplishments; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Chester High |
|
|
School boys' 4 x 400-meter relay team on participating in the Class |
|
|
1A competition at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend |
|
|
to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
