R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Newton High School boys' 4 x 100-meter relay |
|
|
team achieved great distinction by finishing in fourth place in the |
|
|
Class 3A competition at the 2015 University Interscholastic League |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 16, Jaron Hanks, Roney Elam, |
|
|
and Calum and Gabe Foster turned in a notable performance; they |
|
|
achieved a time of 42.47 seconds to earn fourth place and came very |
|
|
close to claiming a spot on the podium; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, these talented young Texans |
|
|
have ably represented their school, and they will cherish their |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the members of the Newton High |
|
|
School boys' 4 x 100-meter relay team on their fourth-place finish |
|
|
in the Class 3A competition at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State Meet |
|
|
and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, |
|
|
be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
