R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jordan Welborn of Lumberton High School achieved |
|
|
great distinction by winning silver medals in the Class 5A girls' |
|
|
1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races at the 2015 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 14-15, Ms. Welborn turned in |
|
|
a pair of notable performances; she clocked in at 4 minutes, 58.64 |
|
|
seconds, in the 1,600-meter race and at 10 minutes, 58.62 seconds, |
|
|
in the 3,200-meter run to earn second place in both events; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Jordan Welborn has ably |
|
|
represented her school, and she will cherish her memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jordan Welborn on her second-place |
|
|
finishes in the Class 5A girls' 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter races |
|
|
at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to her sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Welborn as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
