R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of San Elizario are gathering on May 27,
  2015, for the grand opening of the San Elizario City Hall; and
         WHEREAS, Well known for its historic and cultural landmarks,
  San Elizario has a population of some 13,500 people in El Paso
  County; it was incorporated by a community-wide vote held on
  November 5, 2013, and a mayor and city council were elected to lead
  the newly designated city the following year; and
         WHEREAS, The city hall, located in the historic district of
  San Elizario, will serve as the center of government for municipal
  officers and staff, including Mayor Maya Sanchez and alderpersons
  Leticia Miranda, David Cantu, Miguel Najera Jr., Rebecca
  Martinez-Juarez, and George Almanzar; the dedication ceremony for
  the building will also feature the unveiling of the official city
  seal; and
         WHEREAS, Proudly calling itself "the newest city with the
  oldest history in the state of Texas," the city of San Elizario is
  preserving its rich heritage while working to build an even
  brighter future for present and future generations, and it is
  indeed a pleasure to join in recognizing this special milestone;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the opening of the San Elizario City
  Hall and extend sincere best wishes to all those in attendance for
  an enjoyable and memorable event; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the city of San Elizario as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
