R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, JaDarious Spikes of Burkeville High School achieved |
|
|
great distinction by winning the gold medal in the Class 1A |
|
|
200-meter dash and the silver medal in the Class 1A 100-meter dash |
|
|
at the 2015 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 15, Mr. Spikes turned in |
|
|
notable performances, clocking 22.64 seconds in the 200-meter event |
|
|
and 11.04 seconds in the 100-meter event; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track & field athletes, JaDarious Spikes has ably |
|
|
represented his school, and he will cherish his memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate JaDarious Spikes on his success in |
|
|
the Class 1A 200- and 100-meter dashes at the 2015 UIL Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Spikes as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
