R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Bremond High School football team capped a
  memorable season by winning the 2014 University Interscholastic
  League 2A Division 2 state championship on December 18 at AT&T
  Stadium in Arlington; and
         WHEREAS, The Tigers won the title with a 28-21 victory over
  Albany High School, completing a perfect season in which they
  compiled a record of 15 wins and zero losses; over the course of the
  2014 campaign, Bremond High routinely dominated its opponents with
  a potent offense that averaged more than 45 points per game and a
  stout defense that posted three shutouts; and
         WHEREAS, This exceptional team began its march through the
  playoffs with a dominating victory over Rocksprings to secure the
  area championship; the Tigers followed with impressive wins over
  Louise and Bruni High Schools in the ensuing rounds before
  recording a 32-29 triumph against Tenaha in the semifinals to earn a
  trip to the state championship game; and
         WHEREAS, The 2A Division 2 final proved to be a significant
  test for the Tigers, as the team from Albany High built a
  two-touchdown advantage after three quarters of play; Bremond
  responded with three unanswered scores in the final frame, however,
  and quarterback Roshauud Paul's 23-yard scoring run put the team on
  top with 1:17 left in the contest; the defense then stood firm once
  more, holding the opposing offense in check and clinching the
  second state championship in school history; Mr. Paul was named the
  game's offensive Most Valuable Player, and Joe Williams was
  selected as defensive MVP; and
         WHEREAS, Bremond's success was the result of a true team
  effort, with each member of the roster providing valuable
  contributions throughout the course of the season; moreover, the
  Tigers drew on the expertise and inspirational leadership of head
  coach Jeff Kasowski and his staff; and
         WHEREAS, The members of the Bremond High football team
  demonstrated admirable skill and determination in winning the state
  championship and attaining a flawless record against top
  competition, and they will forever treasure the memory of this
  outstanding achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Bremond High School football
  team on winning the UIL 2A Division 2 state championship and extend
  to the team's players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
