R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, James Scanlon has been named valedictorian of the |
|
Class of 2015 at Atascocita High School in Humble, and he indeed |
|
merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
highest academic standards; in securing his place as the top |
|
ranking student in his class, Mr. Scanlon demonstrated a thorough |
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of |
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
high school career; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Scanlon has also excelled outside of the |
|
classroom, serving as president of Atascocita High's Math and |
|
Science League and as captain of the school's wrestling team; |
|
active in his community as well, he is a valued parishioner and |
|
acolyte at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church; after |
|
graduation, he plans to study statistics and mathematical economic |
|
analysis at Rice University; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Jeff and Lee Scanlon, James Scanlon has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates, |
|
and his exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence |
|
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this |
|
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate James Scanlon, valedictorian of |
|
the Atascocita High School Class of 2015, and extend to him sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting |
|
chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Scanlon as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
