R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Ryan Zepeda has been named valedictorian of the |
|
|
Class of 2015 at Summer Creek High School in Humble, and he indeed |
|
|
merits special recognition for receiving this significant honor; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only |
|
|
intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the |
|
|
highest academic standards; Mr. Zepeda demonstrated a thorough |
|
|
understanding of a wide range of subjects, and his attainment of |
|
|
this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement of a notable |
|
|
high school career; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Elected student body president and captain of the |
|
|
varsity baseball team, Mr. Zepeda was twice named to the |
|
|
All-District 1st Academic Team and is a National Merit Scholar; he |
|
|
earned 10 scholarships totaling nearly $168,000 and plans to enroll |
|
|
in the business honors program at Texas A&M University to prepare |
|
|
for a career as a social entrepreneur; in addition to the pride |
|
|
inherent in being recognized for his hard work, Mr. Zepeda has |
|
|
gained the opportunity to address his fellow seniors at |
|
|
commencement and to reflect on their shared history as well as their |
|
|
hopes and ambitions; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Ray and Shannon Zepeda, Ryan Zepeda has |
|
|
earned the respect and admiration of his teachers and classmates, |
|
|
and his exceptional scholastic ability and commitment to excellence |
|
|
have opened the way to a bright and promising future for this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ryan Zepeda, valedictorian of the |
|
|
Summer Creek High School Class of 2015, and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success as he begins the next exciting |
|
|
chapter of his life; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Zepeda as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
