R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School in San Antonio is |
|
|
celebrating the 85th anniversary of its founding in 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established by the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of |
|
|
Jesus in September 1929, the institution became a boys' military |
|
|
school in 1940, and it later added a girls' school in 1955; an early |
|
|
childhood Montessori Program was introduced in 1973, and in 1987 |
|
|
the school once again became coed; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Today, Mount Sacred Heart serves a diverse student |
|
|
body in grades pre-K through eight; in addition to providing |
|
|
traditional academic and honors programs, the school enables |
|
|
students to explore and expand their interests through special |
|
|
studies and extracurricular activities ranging from musical |
|
|
theater and the performing arts to athletics and robotics; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, For eight and a half decades, the faculty and staff |
|
|
of Mount Sacred Heart have committed themselves to equipping young |
|
|
Texans with a strong educational foundation, and it is indeed |
|
|
fitting that the school be recognized on this special occasion; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 85th anniversary of Mount Sacred |
|
|
Heart Catholic School and extend to all those associated with the |
|
|
institution sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
