R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jacqueline Sandoval of Hargill has rendered |
|
|
outstanding service to her fellow Texans during the 84th |
|
|
Legislature as one of the inaugural participants in the Rio Grande |
|
|
Valley Legislative Internship Program; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by State Representative Terry Canales and |
|
|
The University of Texas--Pan American Foundation, this program is |
|
|
designed to encourage UTPA students to pursue careers in public |
|
|
service; Ms. Sandoval has worked in the Capitol office of State |
|
|
Representative Armando "Mando" Martinez, where she has handled a |
|
|
range of important responsibilities over the course of the |
|
|
legislative session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Sandoval graduated cum laude in 2014 with a |
|
|
bachelor's degree in sociology from UTPA, where she was involved in |
|
|
Alpha Kappa Delta and the Law School Preparation Institute; |
|
|
aspiring to a career in the legal profession, she has already gained |
|
|
work experience at law firms and plans to attend law school in |
|
|
pursuit of a juris doctor degree; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This notable young Texan has performed her duties as |
|
|
a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she has gained |
|
|
valuable leadership experience while learning more about the issues |
|
|
confronting citizens of the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Jacqueline Sandoval for her participation |
|
|
in the Rio Grande Valley Legislative Internship Program and extend |
|
|
to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Sandoval as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
