R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The girls' track team from Seguin High School in
  Arlington proved itself one of the finest squads in Texas when it
  won the Class 5A girls track and field state championship at the
  2015 University Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet;
  and
         WHEREAS, Facing off against a field of top athletes at Mike A.
  Myers Stadium in Austin on May 15, the quartet of Laterria Gooding,
  Toni Garrett, Tonea Marshall, and Aubrey Ridgeway captured the gold
  medal in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1 minute, 38.10
  seconds, and the silver medal in the 4x100-meter relay by clocking
  in at 46.51 seconds; Ms. Marshall furthered her team's cause in
  individual events, placing first in the 100-meter hurdles with a
  time of 13.55 seconds and finishing second in the long jump with a
  distance of 18 feet, 10 inches; and
         WHEREAS, The talented student-athletes of the Seguin High
  girls' track team have distinguished themselves through skill, hard
  work, and an enduring commitment to excellence, and they are a
  source of tremendous pride to their classmates and their many
  supporters in the local community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Seguin High School girls' track
  team on winning the Class 5A girls track and field state
  championship at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to
  the athletes, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
