R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tonea Marshall of Seguin High School in Arlington |
|
|
achieved great distinction by winning gold and silver medals in two |
|
|
individual events at the 2015 University Interscholastic League |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 15, Ms. Marshall delivered a |
|
|
pair of notable performances, claiming the gold medal in the Class |
|
|
5A girls' 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.55 seconds and a |
|
|
silver medal in the Class 5A girls' long jump with a distance of 18 |
|
|
feet, 10 inches; her efforts in both events contributed to the |
|
|
overall score of the Seguin girls' track team, helping the Cougars |
|
|
to capture the UIL Class 5A girls track and field state |
|
|
championship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Tonea Marshall has ably |
|
|
represented her school, and she will cherish her memories of this |
|
|
outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tonea Marshall on winning gold and |
|
|
silver medals in individual events at the 2015 UIL Track & Field |
|
|
State Meet and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Marshall as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
