R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Keenen Diaz, a junior at John A. Dubiski Career High
  School in Grand Prairie, has been accepted into the summer 2015
  session of Subiendo: The Academy for Rising Leaders at The
  University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business; and
         WHEREAS, The Subiendo Academy is a weeklong intensive
  leadership training program offered to Texas high school students;
  participants get the chance to perform policy analysis, network and
  engage in team-building activities, and meet adults who have been
  successful in their fields; working in groups, the students also
  learn about issues relating to health care, the environment,
  energy, and higher education; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Diaz has shown great determination throughout
  his high school career, maintaining an A average while
  participating in numerous extracurricular activities, including
  the National Honor Society, DECA, and the Business Professionals of
  America, which he serves as sergeant at arms; moreover, he has
  generously shared his time with such community initiatives as The
  Center, the local Boys & Girls Club, Meals on Wheels, the March of
  Dimes, and Toys for Tots; named the 2015 Business Student of the
  Year at his school, he plans to one day graduate with an MBA from UT;
  and
         WHEREAS, Keenen Diaz's hard work and proven commitment to
  excellence herald a future bright with promise, and he may indeed
  take great pride in his selection to participate in this
  prestigious program; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Keenen Diaz on his acceptance into
  the Subiendo Academy at The University of Texas at Austin and extend
  to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Diaz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
