R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, During the 84th Regular Session, Nondumiso Mbambo has ably served in the office of State Representative Yvonne Davis through the Texas Legislative Internship Program; and

WHEREAS, Sponsored by Senator Rodney Ellis, TLIP was established in 1990 and is administered by the Mickey Leland Center on World Hunger and Peace at Texas Southern University; the program provides a unique opportunity for outstanding young men and women to serve as interns in the Texas Legislature, in state agencies, and in local government offices; and

WHEREAS, Since joining the staff of Representative Davis, Ms. Mbambo has provided vital assistance in a wide variety of tasks; in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable experience in the field of public service; and

WHEREAS, A native of South Africa, Ms. Mbambo lives in Austin and holds bachelor's degrees in social science and law from Rhodes University in South Africa; she has previously worked as a legal intern at Peotona Group Holdings and as a policy associate for the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition; and

WHEREAS, This noteworthy individual has performed her duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed deserving of special recognition for her many achievements; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas Legislature hereby commend Nondumiso Mbambo for her service in the office of State Representative Yvonne Davis as a participant in the Texas Legislative Internship Program and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Mbambo as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
