R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Deborah Alemu has ably served her fellow Texans as a |
|
|
sessional staffer in the office of State Representative Roberto |
|
|
R. Alonzo during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Alemu has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
|
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|
|
valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Alemu graduated from The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in biology, and during her |
|
|
school years, she worked as a student assistant to the curator of |
|
|
the UT Herbarium Plant Resources Center; she has also served as an |
|
|
organizer for United We Dream, as a DREAM Educational Empowerment |
|
|
Program coordinator for the University Leadership Alliance, and as |
|
|
a volunteer at Casa Marianella, helping to care for the children of |
|
|
asylum seekers; in addition, she has volunteered at Austin food |
|
|
pantries in behalf of the Hunger and Homelessness Outreach student |
|
|
organization and served as a tutor and mentor for the River City |
|
|
Youth Foundation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative staffer with skill and dedication, and she |
|
|
is indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Deborah Alemu for her service as a |
|
|
sessional staffer in the office of State Representative Roberto |
|
|
R. Alonzo and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Alemu as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
