R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jingyu Liao has ably served her fellow Texans as an |
|
|
intern in the office of State Representative Roberto R. Alonzo |
|
|
during the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Liao has provided vital |
|
|
assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, such as |
|
|
editing bill analyses, managing the calendar, greeting |
|
|
constituents, and preparing materials for hearings; she was also |
|
|
responsible for collecting data, establishing a policy portfolio, |
|
|
and interviewing the advocate for House Bill 451; in addition to |
|
|
learning more about the legislative process and the issues facing |
|
|
citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained valuable experience |
|
|
in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Liao is graduating from The University of Texas |
|
|
at Austin in May 2015 with a master of education degree in |
|
|
educational policy and planning; she previously earned a bachelor |
|
|
of arts degree in English from Shandong University at Weihai in |
|
|
China in 2012; she founded her own service organization, the |
|
|
Association of Suncial Workers, in 2011, and she is currently an |
|
|
intern at PenPal Schools, where she develops curriculum and |
|
|
translates between Chinese and English; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Jingyu Liao for her service as a |
|
|
legislative intern in the office of State Representative Roberto |
|
|
R. Alonzo and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Liao as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
