R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The city of Mesquite has greatly benefited from the |
|
|
dedicated leadership of the Honorable John Monaco, who has served |
|
|
as mayor for eight years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, First elected in 2007, Mayor Monaco has ably guided |
|
|
the city with an eye to the future, and his knowledge and expertise |
|
|
in a wide range of community issues have earned him the respect of |
|
|
many people along the way; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mayor Monaco has further distinguished himself |
|
|
through his involvement with the Texas Municipal League, which he |
|
|
has served as president and as an ex officio member of its |
|
|
Intergovernmental Risk Pool Board of Trustees, and he has also been |
|
|
active on several local, regional, and state boards and |
|
|
commissions; in recognition of his vital contributions to the |
|
|
community, he was presented with the 2013 Leadership in Member |
|
|
Enrollment Award by the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Each day, public servants improve the quality of |
|
|
life for their fellow citizens in innumerable ways, and the efforts |
|
|
of John Monaco have helped to make Mesquite an even better place in |
|
|
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Mayor John Monaco for his exemplary |
|
|
public service and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mayor Monaco as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
