R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of Alpha Rho Sigma, the Waco chapter of |
|
|
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, celebrated the 70th anniversary of their |
|
|
chapter's founding on May 9, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Guided by the motto "Greater Service, Greater |
|
|
Progress," the women of Alpha Rho Sigma work to impact and enhance |
|
|
the quality of life in their city through various forms of public |
|
|
service, including projects to promote education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, To celebrate their organization's 70 years of |
|
|
existence, members hosted a Ladies of Distinction Luncheon, which |
|
|
honored nine exceptional women for their efforts and awarded |
|
|
scholarships to two female high school students; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the past seven decades, Alpha Rho Sigma has |
|
|
honored and perpetuated a cherished tradition, one that encourages |
|
|
sisterhood, leadership, and service, and the organization is indeed |
|
|
deserving of recognition for its work in behalf of the Waco |
|
|
community; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Waco chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho |
|
|
Sorority on its 70th anniversary and extend to its members sincere |
|
|
best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Alpha Rho Sigma as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
