R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, EnviroEd of Corpus Christi is committed to promoting |
|
a cleaner environment by teaching the public to practice better |
|
stewardship; and |
|
WHEREAS, An educational company, EnviroEd was established by |
|
Dr. Patricia Reinhardt Mondragon; she is a consultant and former |
|
teacher and administrator who has worked in both public and |
|
parochial schools, and she holds a doctorate in educational |
|
leadership from Texas A&M University--Kingsville; and |
|
WHEREAS, The company has developed classes intended to teach |
|
code violators about taking responsibility for behaviors that |
|
negatively impact the environment; following the model of defensive |
|
driving courses, EnviroEd intends that these classes would allow |
|
those cited for code violations to receive valuable instruction in |
|
lieu of fines; topics addressed in its classes include the |
|
recycling of unwanted objects and disposal strategies for common |
|
toxic materials such as diapers, pet waste, tires, and cigarette |
|
butts; and |
|
WHEREAS, Maintaining a safe and clean environment is vital to |
|
the community, and EnviroEd has created a business model that |
|
supports this important goal; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize EnviroEd for its efforts to develop a |
|
free-market nongovernmental solution to environmental problems and |
|
extend to all those associated with the company sincere best wishes |
|
for success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for EnviroEd as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
