R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ronald Joseph Gafford is retiring from Austin |
|
|
Industries in Dallas, concluding a distinguished career that has |
|
|
spanned more than four decades in the construction industry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1972, Ron Gafford began working for the Henry C. |
|
|
Beck Company as a project engineer and estimator, and he was |
|
|
subsequently employed by the Trammell Crow Company; he joined |
|
|
Austin Industries in 1996, and he served as chair, president, chief |
|
|
operating officer, and chief executive officer; from 2012 to 2014, |
|
|
he was a consultant to the chief executive officer and the board of |
|
|
directors; he holds a bachelor's degree in building construction |
|
|
from Texas A&M University, and he also completed the Advanced |
|
|
Management Program at Harvard Business School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Gafford has served North Texas in numerous |
|
|
leadership roles, including as chair of the Greater Dallas Chamber |
|
|
of Commerce, of the Interfaith Housing Coalition, and of the Dallas |
|
|
Symphony Association; in addition, he has been a member of the |
|
|
advisory board for the Dallas Business Committee for the Arts and of |
|
|
the Texas A&M University Dean's Advisory Council for the College of |
|
|
Architecture, and he presently has a seat on the operating board of |
|
|
Presbyterian Communities and Services; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his skill, dedication, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence, Ron Gafford has earned the respect and admiration of |
|
|
all who are fortunate enough to know him, and he may indeed reflect |
|
|
with pride on his many personal and professional accomplishments; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ronald Joseph Gafford on his |
|
|
retirement from Austin Industries and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Gafford as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
