R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ronald Joseph Gafford is retiring from Austin
  Industries in Dallas, concluding a distinguished career that has
  spanned more than four decades in the construction industry; and
         WHEREAS, In 1972, Ron Gafford began working for the Henry C.
  Beck Company as a project engineer and estimator, and he was
  subsequently employed by the Trammell Crow Company; he joined
  Austin Industries in 1996, and he served as chair, president, chief
  operating officer, and chief executive officer; from 2012 to 2014,
  he was a consultant to the chief executive officer and the board of
  directors; he holds a bachelor's degree in building construction
  from Texas A&M University, and he also completed the Advanced
  Management Program at Harvard Business School; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gafford has served North Texas in numerous
  leadership roles, including as chair of the Greater Dallas Chamber
  of Commerce, of the Interfaith Housing Coalition, and of the Dallas
  Symphony Association; in addition, he has been a member of the
  advisory board for the Dallas Business Committee for the Arts and of
  the Texas A&M University Dean's Advisory Council for the College of
  Architecture, and he presently has a seat on the operating board of
  Presbyterian Communities and Services; and
         WHEREAS, Through his skill, dedication, and commitment to
  excellence, Ron Gafford has earned the respect and admiration of
  all who are fortunate enough to know him, and he may indeed reflect
  with pride on his many personal and professional accomplishments;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ronald Joseph Gafford on his
  retirement from Austin Industries and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Gafford as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
