R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, A respected businessman, Lonnie B. Grissom Jr. has |
|
|
made significant contributions to the logging industry in Tyler |
|
|
County; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Grissom was born and raised in Woodville, and he |
|
|
graduated from Kirby High School in 1979; after serving in Germany |
|
|
for four years with the United States Army, he returned to his |
|
|
hometown and began his career in logging in 1986; he and a partner |
|
|
founded G & W Enterprises, a logging and trucking company, as well |
|
|
as other firms related to the industry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Grissom subsequently struck out on his own, and |
|
|
he continued to extend his business into sawmills, chipmills, fuel |
|
|
distribution, and an equipment dealership; over the years, he has |
|
|
worked tirelessly to expand job opportunities in Tyler County by |
|
|
building new operations, and he has partnered with Texas Pellets |
|
|
and the East Texas Electric Cooperative to promote the expansion of |
|
|
their companies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dynamic and creative entrepreneurs play a vital role |
|
|
in the prosperity of Texas, and through his many endeavors, Lonnie |
|
|
Grissom has helped to make Tyler County an even better place in |
|
|
which to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Lonnie B. Grissom Jr. for his |
|
|
accomplishments and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Grissom as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
