R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Los Carnales/La Familia Motorcycle |
|
|
Club are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the organization's |
|
|
founding on December 12, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in April 1995 by Houston police officers |
|
|
Mondel Martin, Russell Fisher, Max Williams, Rock Rheinhart, and |
|
|
John Gonzalez, Los Carnales Motorcycle Club was initially exclusive |
|
|
to active and retired law enforcement officers who shared a passion |
|
|
for American-made V-Twin motorcycles and the open road; members |
|
|
later involved their family and friends in the community by |
|
|
organizing the club's civilian arm, La Familia; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the years, the club has grown to include a total |
|
|
of 28 chapters, which are located in Texas and three other states, |
|
|
as well as in Rome, Italy; members place a strong emphasis on giving |
|
|
back to their communities, contributing to a number of worthwhile |
|
|
charitable organizations, including the Arc of Fort Bend County, A |
|
|
World for Children, Court Appointed Special Advocates, Navidad en |
|
|
el Barrio, the Peace Officers' Memorial Foundation, the Sacred |
|
|
Heart Children's Home, and The Crisis Center; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to riding with a purpose, the members of |
|
|
Los Carnales/La Familia Motorcycle Club promote brotherhood, |
|
|
camaraderie, and respect for the law while working in behalf of |
|
|
their fellow citizens, and it is a pleasure to honor the group as it |
|
|
celebrates this special milestone in its history; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding |
|
|
of Los Carnales/La Familia Motorcycle Club and extend to its |
|
|
members sincere best wishes for a meaningful and memorable |
|
|
celebration; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the club as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
