R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and enthusiasm drew to a close
  with the passing of Margaret Ann McCarthy Williams of Duncanville
  on May 18, 2015, at the age of 90; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Henrietta, Oklahoma, on December 19, 1924,
  the former Margaret McCarthy grew up lovingly spoiled by her
  parents, Joseph Michael McCarthy and Mary Nancy LaVelle-McCarthy,
  in a household rendered rambunctious by her brothers, John and Joe;
  following World War II, she married James Henry Williams, and they
  became the proud parents of two daughters, Ann and Myra; the couple
  moved from Seminole, Oklahoma, to Seminole, Texas, where they ran a
  successful clothing store, B. Williams and Sons; a devout Catholic,
  Mrs. Williams led the effort to establish St. James Catholic
  Church, and she was a key member of the St. James Altar Society; in
  later years, she worshiped with her oldest daughter at Holy Spirit
  Catholic Church in Duncanville; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Williams maintained her allegiance to the
  University of Oklahoma, whose crimson banner matched the fiery hue
  of her hair; while devoted to her family, she did not shy away from
  disputes over collegiate sports dominance, and she was also a
  fierce bridge player who enjoyed a little trash-talking on her way
  to becoming a life master; she was a staunch Democrat and supporter
  of John F. Kennedy and Hillary Clinton, and she loved to rib her
  Republican friends; with her quirky, infectious laugh and saucy
  ways, she won a host of admirers; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Margaret
  Williams will remember the way she brightened their lives with her
  warm, funny, and feisty personality, and she will forever hold a
  treasured place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Margaret Ann
  McCarthy Williams and extend sincere condolences to the members of
  her family: to her daughters, Ann Williams-Hubener and Myra
  Williams-Rogers; to her grandchildren, James Hubener, Katy
  Hubener-McKamie, Casey Williams-Joshlin, Courtney
  Williams-McGill, Chelsea Rogers-Landry, Monty Rogers, and Camber
  Rogers; to her 10 great-grandchildren; and to her many other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Margaret
  Williams.
