R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Mike Bennett, headmaster of All Saints |
|
|
Episcopal School in Lubbock, is being recognized for his 50 years of |
|
|
service in the field of education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Before becoming the headmaster of All Saints |
|
|
Episcopal School in 2005, Dr. Bennett worked in public education |
|
|
for four decades; he began his career in 1965 with the Wylie |
|
|
Independent School District and joined Lubbock ISD in 1970, where |
|
|
he worked for the next 35 years, serving as junior high and high |
|
|
school principal and director of school public relations, among |
|
|
other positions; additionally, he has taught undergraduate and |
|
|
graduate courses at Texas Tech, Wayland Baptist, and McMurry |
|
|
Universities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Bennett holds a bachelor's degree in English and |
|
|
speech from McMurry University and a master's degree in |
|
|
administration from Abilene Christian University; he earned his |
|
|
doctorate in education curriculum and instruction at Texas Tech |
|
|
University in 1973; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Over the course of his career, Dr. Mike Bennett has |
|
|
exemplified the highest ideals of his profession, fostering a |
|
|
positive educational environment for students while helping to |
|
|
equip them with a sound academic foundation, and he may indeed |
|
|
reflect with pride on his notable achievements; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Mike Bennett for 50 years of service |
|
|
in education and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Bennett as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
