R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Courtney Bartholomew has been named the 2014-2015 |
|
|
Teacher of the Year at Smith Elementary School in the Del Valle |
|
|
Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Bartholomew worked with Popham and |
|
|
Hornsby-Dunlap Elementary Schools before joining the faculty at |
|
|
Smith Elementary, where she currently teaches first grade; she |
|
|
serves on the Math and Science Committee as well as the Positive |
|
|
Behavioral Interventions and Supports Committee; a founding member |
|
|
of EduRise, a nonprofit organization for teachers, she has also |
|
|
coached female students on self-confidence and healthy living |
|
|
through the Girls on the Run after-school program; she holds a |
|
|
bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies from Texas |
|
|
State University; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Courtney Bartholomew exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and she has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in her profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Courtney Bartholomew on her |
|
|
selection as the 2014-2015 Teacher of the Year at Smith Elementary |
|
|
School and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
with her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Bartholomew as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
