WH |
|
|
EREAS, The Edgewood Independent School District in Bexar |
|
|
County has earned a 2015 Performance Excellence Program Achievement |
|
|
Award from the Texas Association of School Business Officials; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TASBO PEP Award recognizes districts that excel |
|
|
in school business management and in the effective use of taxpayer |
|
|
funds and resources; districts are judged on such criteria as |
|
|
leadership, strategic planning, and operations focus; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This is the third consecutive year that Edgewood ISD |
|
|
has been honored with a TASBO PEP Award, and it is one of only two |
|
|
schools in the state to have received a PEP Level III Award; ably |
|
|
guided by superintendent Dr. Jose A. Cervantes, Edgewood ISD has |
|
|
demonstrated a strong commitment to implementing improvements in |
|
|
policies and procedures and to maintaining financial stability; |
|
|
serving more than 11,000 students in the San Antonio area, the |
|
|
district has also managed to fund numerous additions and |
|
|
enhancements to campus facilities; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A well-run school district ensures that maximum |
|
|
resources are directed toward the classroom, and the Edgewood |
|
|
Independent School District is indeed deserving of recognition for |
|
|
its success in pursuing that important goal; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Edgewood Independent School |
|
|
District on earning a Performance Excellence Program Achievement |
|
|
Award from the Texas Association of School Business Officials and |
|
|
extend to all those associated with the district sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Edgewood ISD as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
