R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Stetson Chadwick and Mollie Mounsey of Follett High |
|
|
School achieved great distinction with their medal-winning |
|
|
performances at the 2015 University Interscholastic League Track & |
|
|
Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Ms. Mounsey turned in a notable |
|
|
performance in the 1A discus throw, recording a total distance of |
|
|
126 feet, 9 inches, to claim the gold medal; she continued her |
|
|
success in the shot put competition, defeating each of her |
|
|
opponents with a toss of 39 feet, 11.5 inches, to secure her second |
|
|
state title; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Chadwick earned the silver medal in the boys' 1A |
|
|
high jump event, clearing a height of 6 feet, 2 inches; he finished |
|
|
only 4 inches short of first place and equaled his own personal |
|
|
record height in the process; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track & field athletes, these talented young Texans |
|
|
have ably represented their school, and they may take great pride in |
|
|
their outstanding accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Mollie Mounsey and Stetson |
|
|
Chadwick on their achievements at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That official copies of this resolution be prepared |
|
|
for Ms. Mounsey and Mr. Chadwick as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
