R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The retail economy of the Coastal Bend region of |
|
Texas will be greatly enhanced by the opening of The Outlets at |
|
Corpus Christi Bay in Robstown in November 2016; and |
|
WHEREAS, Located inside the corporate limits of Robstown, |
|
this new outlet mall is the result of a partnership between the |
|
Lockard Companies and Dolphin Ventures; ground was broken on the |
|
project in July 2013 in partnership with the City of Robstown, the |
|
Robstown Improvement Development Corporation, Nueces County |
|
Drainage District No. 2, and the Crossroads Local Government |
|
Corporation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Phase I of the mall will include approximately |
|
325,000 square feet of retail space, with 25 acres available nearby |
|
for more shops, entertainment venues, restaurants, and hotels; the |
|
mall's proximity to the Richard Borchard Regional Fairgrounds will |
|
help ensure its success not only with local residents but with the |
|
8.1 million annual visitors to the region; and |
|
WHEREAS, Development projects such as The Outlets at Corpus |
|
Christi Bay in Robstown represent an exciting addition to the |
|
dynamic economy of the Coastal Bend, and this stylish new mall |
|
promises to contribute to the prosperity and quality of life of the |
|
region; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby celebrate the opening of The Outlets at Corpus |
|
Christi Bay in 2016 and congratulate all those associated with this |
|
project on bringing it to fruition. |
