R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, Rachel Hernandez has ably served her fellow Texans |
|
|
as an aide in the office of State Representative Gilbert Peña during |
|
|
the 84th Legislative Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Hernandez has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks; |
|
|
in addition to learning more about the legislative process and the |
|
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, she has gained |
|
|
valuable experience in the field of public service; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hernandez is a graduate of The University of |
|
|
Texas at Austin, where she earned a bachelor's degree in government |
|
|
with a minor in rhetoric; she participated in the UTeach training |
|
|
program and served as a teaching assistant for a social dance class |
|
|
for which she developed learning objectives and classroom exercises |
|
|
designed to encourage students' cognitive growth and to improve |
|
|
their communication skills as well as dance skills in social |
|
|
settings; moreover, she has supported a number of worthwhile causes |
|
|
in the community, volunteering with the Helping Hornz service group |
|
|
and lending her support to back-to-school drives in the Rio Grande |
|
|
Valley; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Rachel Hernandez for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Gilbert Peña |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
|
her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hernandez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
