R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The annual Bert Ogden Mission Chevrolet Cowboy
  Christmas Cook-Off is held each year in the city of Mission; and
         WHEREAS, An International Barbeque Cookers Association
  sanctioned state
  championship event, the Cowboy Christmas Cook-Off
  features a festive combination of good music and good eating, with
  proceeds benefiting the Silver Ribbon Community Partners; and
         WHEREAS, Talented barbecue chefs from throughout Texas face
  off to see who can cook up the tastiest brisket, pork spareribs, and
  chicken; cash prizes are presented to the first-place through
  10th-place finishers in each category, as contestants vie for a
  share of thousands of dollars in total winnings; and
         WHEREAS, An exciting time for young and old alike, the Cowboy
  Christmas Cook-Off is a much-anticipated gathering for residents of
  South Texas, and this new celebration of Lone Star-style food and
  music is indeed deserving of special recognition; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize the Bert Ogden Mission Chevrolet
  Cowboy Christmas Cook-Off and extend to the event's organizers,
  participants, and guests sincere best wishes for a continued
  enjoyable and rewarding experience.
