R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Vianey Rueda of San Elizario High School has been |
|
|
selected as a 2015 Gates Millennium Scholar; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, |
|
|
this program offers financial support to outstanding minority |
|
|
students; established in 1999, the scholar awards focus on |
|
|
encouraging studies in the fields of computer science, education, |
|
|
engineering, library science, mathematics, public health, and the |
|
|
sciences at the undergraduate through doctoral levels; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Rueda is graduating from San Elizario High |
|
|
School at the top of her class, and she plans to continue her |
|
|
education at Dartmouth College; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, One of an elite group of students from across the |
|
|
country to be named a Gates Millennium Scholar, Vianey Rueda earned |
|
|
this award on the basis of her academic excellence, and she may |
|
|
indeed look forward to a future bright with promise; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Vianey Rueda on her selection as a |
|
|
2015 Gates Millennium Scholar and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Rueda as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
