R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Deanna Zimmerman is retiring from the office of
  State Representative Bill Zedler in 2015, concluding 27 years of
  distinguished service to the Texas Legislature; and
         WHEREAS, For more than seven years, Ms. Zimmerman has
  provided invaluable support to Representative Zedler as his
  district director and chief of staff; she began her career in the
  office of State Representative Kent Grusendorf in 1988, and she
  first joined the staff of Representative Zedler in 2006; for one
  legislative session, she was employed in the office of
  Representative Linda Harper-Brown, and she then returned to
  Representative Zedler's staff; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Zimmerman has also made a positive difference in
  her community through her civic leadership; she has served the
  Arlington Chamber of Commerce as a two-term member of the
  Governmental Affairs Committee and as an ex-officio member of the
  Public Policy Advisory Committee; active in the Republican Party,
  she served two terms as scholarship chair for the Texas Federation
  of Republican Women, and she was a founding member of the Reagan
  Legacy Republican Women; moreover, she was named the 2000 Volunteer
  of the Year by the Tarrant County Republican Party State District
  10; and
         WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Zimmerman has enjoyed the
  love and support of her husband of 32 years, John Zimmerman, their
  children, John Clark, Gregory, and Justin, and their grandchildren,
  Ravin, Kailey, Payton, Paul, J.C., Garrett, and J.C.; following
  Ms. Zimmerman's retirement, she and her husband are moving to
  Whitesboro, where they plan to raise cattle; the couple are also
  looking forward to taking long trips in their new travel trailer;
  and
         WHEREAS, Deanna Zimmerman has greatly benefited her fellow
  citizens over the course of more than a quarter-century in state
  government, and she may indeed reflect with pride on her
  accomplishments as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Deanna Zimmerman on her retirement
  from state government and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Zimmerman as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
