R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Joseph Timothy Ros of
  Ashwood suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this heroic
  Texan on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, at the age of 44; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Ros exemplified bravery and selflessness,
  traits that were made evident on that fateful day, when he lost his
  own life while saving his children, Garrett, Grayson, Gaven, and
  Aubrey, who had been swept away in a riptide at Matagorda Beach; and
         WHEREAS, A proud alumnus of Texas A&M University, Mr. Ros
  joined the United States National Guard in 1989 and served his
  country with distinction in Iraq, earning the rank of sergeant
  first class; he remained active in the Texas Army National Guard
  while pursuing a civilian career as an employee of the Van Vleck
  Independent School District, where he served as principal of O. H.
  Herman Middle School, assistant principal of Van Vleck High School,
  and director of maintenance and transportation; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Ros was deeply devoted to his faith and his
  family, which included his beloved wife, Ashley; he counted hunting
  and fishing among his passions, and he especially delighted in
  spending time in the outdoors with his loved ones; and
         WHEREAS, Above all else, Joe Ros found joy in helping others,
  and those who were fortunate enough to share in the richness of his
  life will forever cherish their memories of this esteemed educator,
  caring family man, and true and loyal friend; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Timothy Ros and
  extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Ashley Ros; to his children, Garrett, Grayson, Gaven, and
  Aubrey Ros; to his mother, Mittie Burditt; to his sister, Regina
  Densmore; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joseph
  Timothy Ros.
