R E S O L U T I O N
|

|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Joseph Timothy Ros of |
|
|
Ashwood suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this heroic |
|
|
Texan on Memorial Day, May 25, 2015, at the age of 44; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joe Ros exemplified bravery and selflessness, |
|
|
traits that were made evident on that fateful day, when he lost his |
|
|
own life while saving his children, Garrett, Grayson, Gaven, and |
|
|
Aubrey, who had been swept away in a riptide at Matagorda Beach; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A proud alumnus of Texas A&M University, Mr. Ros |
|
|
joined the United States National Guard in 1989 and served his |
|
|
country with distinction in Iraq, earning the rank of sergeant |
|
|
first class; he remained active in the Texas Army National Guard |
|
|
while pursuing a civilian career as an employee of the Van Vleck |
|
|
Independent School District, where he served as principal of O. H. |
|
|
Herman Middle School, assistant principal of Van Vleck High School, |
|
|
and director of maintenance and transportation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ros was deeply devoted to his faith and his |
|
|
family, which included his beloved wife, Ashley; he counted hunting |
|
|
and fishing among his passions, and he especially delighted in |
|
|
spending time in the outdoors with his loved ones; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Joe Ros found joy in helping others, |
|
|
and those who were fortunate enough to share in the richness of his |
|
|
life will forever cherish their memories of this esteemed educator, |
|
|
caring family man, and true and loyal friend; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Joseph Timothy Ros and |
|
|
extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
|
wife, Ashley Ros; to his children, Garrett, Grayson, Gaven, and |
|
|
Aubrey Ros; to his mother, Mittie Burditt; to his sister, Regina |
|
|
Densmore; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Joseph |
|
|
Timothy Ros. |
