R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the State of |
|
|
Texas, 84th Legislature, Regular Session, 2015, That House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(a), be suspended in part as provided by House Rule 13, |
|
|
Section 9(f), to enable the conference committee appointed to |
|
|
resolve the differences on House Bill 2968 (preservation of the |
|
|
Alamo complex and surrounding area and to the Alamo Preservation |
|
|
Advisory Board) to consider and take action on the following |
|
|
matter: |
|
|
House Rule 13, Section 9(a)(4), is suspended to permit the |
|
|
committee to add text on a matter not included in either the house |
|
|
or senate version of the bill by adding, in proposed SECTION 2 of |
|
|
the bill, Section 31.455(b), Natural Resources Code, as follows: |
|
|
(b) The advisory board is composed of: |
|
|
(1) the commissioner or the commissioner's designee, |
|
|
who serves as the presiding officer of the advisory board; |
|
|
(2) a designee appointed by the governor; |
|
|
(3) a representative of the Alamo Endowment, appointed |
|
|
by the commissioner [the president general of the Daughters of the
|
|
|
Republic of Texas]; |
|
|
(4) the director of the Alamo [current Alamo
|
|
|
chairperson of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas]; |
|
|
(5) [the immediate past Alamo chairperson of the
|
|
|
Daughters of the Republic of Texas;
|
|
|
[(6)] the Alamo curator; |
|
|
(6) [(7)] one representative of the Texas Historical |
|
|
Commission; |
|
|
(7) a designee appointed by the county judge of |
|
|
[(8) the president of the] Bexar County [Historical Commission]; |
|
|
[and] |
|
|
(8) a designee appointed by the mayor [(9)
one
|
|
|
representative who serves as a member] of the City of San Antonio; |
|
|
[Office of Historic Preservation] |
|
|
(9) a designee appointed by the commissioner |
|
|
representing the local travel and tourism industry and the |
|
|
businesses and landholders from the area immediately surrounding |
|
|
the Alamo complex; |
|
|
(10) one member of the house of representatives |
|
|
appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives; and |
|
|
(11) one senator appointed by the lieutenant governor. |
|
|
Explanation: The change is necessary to alter the |
|
|
composition of the Alamo Preservation Advisory Board for the |
|
|
preservation of the Alamo complex. |
