R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jessie M. Hopkins has been selected as the Carver |
|
|
Heights Baptist Church Woman of the Year for 2015-2016; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of the church since 1974, |
|
|
Ms. Hopkins has greatly benefited the congregation through her many |
|
|
endeavors in its behalf; she is a trustee of the church and a |
|
|
longtime church school teacher, and she has chaired the 10th |
|
|
Pastoral Anniversary Banquet, the Leadership Training Workshop, |
|
|
and the Leadership Ministry; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Hopkins founded the Christmas Christian |
|
|
Banquet, and she organized the first Ministry Fair; in addition, |
|
|
she serves in the Women's Ministry and the Christian Education |
|
|
Ministry, and she attends Noon Day Bible Study; she has also been |
|
|
inducted into the Carver Heights Pioneer Hall of Fame; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Expressing her strong faith through her many |
|
|
contributions to her church, Jessie Hopkins has earned the lasting |
|
|
appreciation of her fellow congregants, and this prestigious |
|
|
accolade is a reflection of the high esteem in which she is held; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jessie M. Hopkins on her selection |
|
|
as the Carver Heights Baptist Church Woman of the Year for 2015-2016 |
|
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Hopkins as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
