R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ron Haddock of Dallas, a longtime business and civic
  leader, has set an inspiring example of community engagement
  through his outstanding service to the American Heart Association;
  and
         WHEREAS, A volunteer with the AHA for more than 10 years,
  Mr. Haddock is the immediate past chair of its national board of
  directors; in that role, he oversaw cutting-edge international
  efforts that have helped broaden the scope of the organization's
  mission on a global scale, and since stepping down, he has continued
  to support the AHA at the local level; he additionally shares his
  expertise with the American Heart Association ECC Business
  Management and Scientific Publishing Committees, and he previously
  chaired the Dallas Division of the AHA and its South Central
  Affiliate; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Haddock is a graduate of Purdue University who
  is retired from a notable career in the petroleum industry; the
  former CEO of FINA and Prisma Energy International, he currently
  chairs the boards of three corporations, AEI Energy, Safety-Kleen,
  and Rubicon Offshore International, in addition to serving as a
  member of the boards of Alon USA Energy, Trinity Industries, and
  Petron Corporation; active over the years in both industry and
  civic organizations in Dallas, he has been the recipient of
  numerous well-deserved honors for his achievements; and
         WHEREAS, Those Texans who step forward to share their time
  and talents for the benefit of others are indeed worthy of our
  respect and admiration, and Ron Haddock may take justifiable pride
  in all that he has accomplished through his hard work and
  dedication; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize Ron Haddock for his decade of service
  to the American Heart Association and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Haddock as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
