R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Mary Jo |
|
Walker of Mount Pleasant, who passed away on May 26, 2015, at the |
|
age of 90; and |
|
WHEREAS, The daughter of Elmer and Louilla Stephens, the |
|
former Mary Jo Stephens was born in Franklin County on September 4, |
|
1924; she was employed as the cafeteria manager at E. C. Brice |
|
Elementary School until her retirement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Walker was the devoted mother of two children, |
|
Steven and Terry; following the passing of her first husband, Ray |
|
Yancy, she was fortunate enough to find love again and married Dean |
|
Walker, who also preceded her in death; she was a valued member of |
|
the Highland Park Baptist Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Mary Jo Walker will be deeply missed, |
|
cherished memories of time spent in her company will long endure in |
|
the hearts of her family and friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Mary Jo Walker and |
|
extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her |
|
daughter, Terry Hill, and her husband, Roy; to her grandchildren |
|
and their spouses, Mary Jane and Tracy Bidy and Ernest and Lauren |
|
Murphy; to her great-grandchildren, Rachel and Hannah Murphy, |
|
Dustin Baker, and Holly and Burl Brady; to her five |
|
great-great-grandchildren; and to her many other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Jo |
|
Walker. |
