R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Georgia Gasper retired from the U.S. Department of |
|
Veterans Affairs in May 2015, after a distinguished tenure as a |
|
liaison nurse at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical |
|
Center in Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Galveston, Mrs. Gasper earned a bachelor |
|
of science degree in nursing from Sacred Heart Dominican College in |
|
Houston in 1960; following her graduation, she lived in New Orleans |
|
for several years before returning to Houston, where she worked as |
|
an instructor in the Hermann Hospital School of Vocational Nursing; |
|
she later took a position at the VA Medical Center; and |
|
WHEREAS, In retirement, Mrs. Gasper will enjoy having more |
|
time to spend with her husband of 52 years, Jim, as well as with her |
|
four children, Diedra, Paul, Henry, and Char, and her eight |
|
grandchildren, Annie, James, Payton, Kyle, Drew, Claire, Hollis, |
|
and Layne; and |
|
WHEREAS, Georgia Gasper's expertise, hard work, and |
|
achievements have greatly benefited her fellow Texans, and she may |
|
indeed reflect with pride on her outstanding career; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Georgia Gasper on her retirement |
|
from the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center and |
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Gasper as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
