R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Georgia Gasper retired from the U.S. Department of
  Veterans Affairs in May 2015, after a distinguished tenure as a
  liaison nurse at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical
  Center in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Galveston, Mrs. Gasper earned a bachelor
  of science degree in nursing from Sacred Heart Dominican College in
  Houston in 1960; following her graduation, she lived in New Orleans
  for several years before returning to Houston, where she worked as
  an instructor in the Hermann Hospital School of Vocational Nursing;
  she later took a position at the VA Medical Center; and
         WHEREAS, In retirement, Mrs.  Gasper will enjoy having more
  time to spend with her husband of 52 years, Jim, as well as with her
  four children, Diedra, Paul, Henry, and Char, and her eight
  grandchildren, Annie, James, Payton, Kyle, Drew, Claire, Hollis,
  and Layne; and
         WHEREAS, Georgia Gasper's expertise, hard work, and
  achievements have greatly benefited her fellow Texans, and she may
  indeed reflect with pride on her outstanding career; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Georgia Gasper on her retirement
  from the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs Medical Center and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Gasper as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
