R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of |
|
|
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Diane Buck and William |
|
|
Ronald Castleman are celebrating this joyous milestone in their |
|
|
marriage on July 10, 2015; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The couple met when they were students in high |
|
|
school, and they were joined in matrimony in 1965 at a ceremony held |
|
|
at Andrew Price Memorial Church in Donelson, Tennessee; through the |
|
|
years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that includes |
|
|
their children, Joe Castleman, Kristen Castleman Day, and Sara |
|
|
Castleman Hjelm, who each graduated from The University of Texas at |
|
|
Austin; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Diane and Ron Castleman have been residents of |
|
|
Tarrant County since 1979; after attending Belmont University in |
|
|
Nashville, Mrs. Castleman enjoyed a career with American Airlines |
|
|
in Fort Worth until her retirement; Mr. Castleman earned his degree |
|
|
from Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and went on |
|
|
to serve as chief operating officer for the Federal Emergency |
|
|
Management Agency in Washington, D.C., and as director of Region 6 |
|
|
of FEMA in Denton; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Both husband and wife are active members of the |
|
|
United Methodist Church in Arlington and Southlake, and they share |
|
|
an interest in helping those in need, with Mrs. Castleman having |
|
|
worked to assist HIV-positive individuals in Arlington and |
|
|
Mr. Castleman serving on the board of the Leukemia & Lymphoma |
|
|
Society of America; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Castleman have enjoyed five decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Diane and Ron Castleman on their |
|
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Castleman as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
