R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Precinct chairs are integral to the success of their |
|
|
party's mission to elect public servants who will build a better |
|
|
state and nation for today's citizenry and for generations to come; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Because public policy affects our daily lives, |
|
|
individuals must exercise their right to vote, and precinct chairs |
|
|
play an important role in the election process; they work with |
|
|
others to mobilize voters and get them to the polls, and they help |
|
|
to connect voters and elected officials; in addition, they |
|
|
represent their precinct on the County Executive Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Precinct chairs are the representatives of their |
|
|
parties at the neighborhood level, and their efforts to inspire |
|
|
voters to support the party's candidates are part of a proud and |
|
|
vital political tradition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Devoting their time and energy to promoting |
|
|
Democratic Party goals, these outstanding Texans are committed to |
|
|
representing the interests of working families, fighting for equal |
|
|
opportunities, and advancing a more inclusive society; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor the precinct chairs of the Bexar County |
|
|
Democratic Party and extend to these dedicated community leaders |
|
|
sincere best wishes for the future. |
