R E S O L U T I O N

|
|
WHEREAS, Tyler Pickens of Amarillo High School achieved great |
|
|
distinction by participating in the 2015 University |
|
|
Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the top high school competitors in Texas at |
|
|
Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 15, Mr. Pickens placed |
|
|
seventh overall in the Class 6A boys' shot put event with a distance |
|
|
of 52 feet, 2.25 inches; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete as one of the elite |
|
|
track and field athletes in the Lone Star State, Tyler Pickens has |
|
|
ably represented his school, and he may indeed reflect with pride on |
|
|
his notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tyler Pickens on participating in |
|
|
the Class 6A boys' shot put event at the 2015 UIL Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be |
|
|
it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Pickens as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
