R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the |
|
passing of Henry Coke of Mount Pleasant on May 26, 2015, at the age |
|
of 89; and |
|
WHEREAS, "Pete" Coke was born in Hopkins County on September |
|
19, 1925, to Maile and Pearl Coke; he married the former Francis |
|
Younger, and they became the proud parents of a daughter, Linda; and |
|
WHEREAS, After serving in the United States Army during World |
|
War II, Mr. Coke went on to work as a master plumber; a man of faith, |
|
he was a valued congregant at Circle C Cowboy Church in Mount |
|
Pleasant; he was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys football |
|
team; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pete Coke enjoyed a life that was rich in the |
|
intangibles that matter most, and he is deeply missed by all those |
|
who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Henry "Pete" Coke and |
|
extend heartfelt condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
daughter, Linda Cook; to his grandchildren, Debra McDonald, Melinda |
|
Wattam, and Jerry Barr; to his great-grandchildren, Haylee and |
|
Kaselynn Morris, Mackenzie and Brayden Hastings, Kaytlin and Jake |
|
Barr, Dillion and Connor McDonald, and Lainey Wattam; and to his |
|
other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pete Coke. |
